The Jaguar Model Club started in September 1996 when I (
Gary Oxley ), was in regular contact with other collectors
from different parts of the world. I know from my own
correspondence that these keen collectors were making
contact by letter ( by telephone if the other collector was
in the same country ), but I thought it would be a good idea
to join everyone together by means of a Newsletter. Looking
back, these first Newsletters were a little amateurish but
we all have to start somewhere as they say. We then
progressed to a quality 24 page Quarterly Magazine with
photographs which is praised the world over by members. At
present we have members in these countries : Argentina,
Austria, Australia including the Island of Tasmania,
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland,
Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway,
Portugal, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, UK
including Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man and the USA. I
and other members have made great contacts and friendships
by us all sharing a common interest ..... Jaguar Scale
Models. We produce a limited edition model every year which
can be seen on the CLUB MODELS page and a limited edition
kit, this can be seen on the 100 SERIES page. The Internet
has helped us greatly, the next step forward was a fully
interactive JMC Website which
you are on now !!, the club achieved this by the kind help
of Roger Chrich Member 220, better known to members as
'Rodge', he has helped greatly and is now the JMC Website
Manager. With the wide variety of Toys, Tinplate, Die-casts,
Resin and White Metal models and kits collected by members,
we have a vast knowledge collectively when members ask for
assistance. Like any club or organisation, we have a small
band of keen collectors who regularly help and contribute, I
would like to thank each and everyone.
