1998 CLUB MODEL - E-Type V12 Series III - HDU 555N
The Jaguar Model
Club yearly model for 1998 was the very famous last V12
E-type ever produced, HDU 555N which was retained by Jaguar
Cars Ltd. The last 50 real E-types were going to be all
sprayed Black, but one was requested and painted in British
Racing Green for the Robert Danny Collection, each of these
50 E-types had a brass plaque attached to the glove box,
this carried that cars chassis number and inscription about
the last cars to roll off the production line, also these
had Sir William Lyons signature engraved on the plaque too.
Provence Moulage were chosen again with their V12 Series III
E-type being the best kit available to produce the models
from. An exact copy of the glove box brass plaque was
produced which is placed on each base of the 50 club models,
a tiny plaque is also applied to the dashboards of each
model. Other alterations to the standard kit was to alter
each model to manual transmission and apply the HDU 555N
registration plates front and rear. Out of the first set of
five JMC models, this V12 E-type is the most requested by
new members joining and at present there is a waiting list
for any of these models should one become available.
