The Suffolk SS100 Jaguar
Jaguar 4.2 Litre

We are please to be able to build Suffolk Jaguar SS100 replicas to customer order. We offer a 12 month guarantee against the failure of all mechanical parts and a 10 year guarantee against corrosion of the chassis and bodywork (UK only). Completed cars are supplied with British Department of Transport Vehicle Registration Document V5 and 12 months MOT certificate. Each Suffolk SS100 is constructed using the original vehicle identity and mechanical components from a Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Series I, II or III. Alternative Jaguar engines, gearboxes and differentials are available to order. Every car is made specifically to customer order and variations to the specification can be incorporated. Cars can now be built in Left Hand Drive. Cars are also available with Fuel Injection and catalytic converters.

BODYWORK:
Reinforced GRP construction incorporating special inbuilt subframes. Hand crafted louvred alloy bonnet, leather seats, double duck hood, Wilton carpets, folding windscreen and twin aeroscreens, heater, tonneau cover, hood bag, luggage rack and tool kit. All aluminium bodywork is available at extra cost.

Variations in the above specifications can include 2.8, 3.4 and 3.8 litre engines plus alternative Jaguar gearboxes and final drive rations. We will be pleased to fit customers own Jaguar engines and gearboxes.


A suggested build-up programme
  1. Chassis needs to be located on 4 axle stands in the workshop
  2. Fit into chassis the 4 special S.S. bushes that carry the top and bottom differential mounting plates. Secure with Loctite.
  3. Fit into chassis, using the special S.S. mounting plates, the whole of the rear drive, lower arms, outer hubs, disc brakes and differential unit assembly. Note: This complete sub assembly can be completely built up before delivery of the chassis.
  4. Fit the 2 rear tie bars with their special bushes and rose joints between the lower arms and the sides of the chassis.
  5. Fit the 4 coil over shock absorber units to the rear suspension.
  6. Build up the front end of the chassis with lower wishbones, uprights, upper arms, brake discs and hubs. Use special polyurethane bushes and sealed ball joints.
  7. Fit the 2 coil over shock absorbers to front suspension.
  8. Fit front brake calipers.
  9. Fit steering rack with 3 special S.S. bushes (do not use Jaguar stock items).
  10. Fit brake and clutch pedall to chassis on cross shaft.
  11. Fit servo and master cylinder.
  12. Make up and fit 3/16 Kunifer brake lines to inside of the long offside chassis rail with 12 clipd. 3 x "T" pieces will be required, (i)the brake light switch, (ii) seperate rear calipers and (iii)to split front pipes from servo.
  13. Instal 2 front flexibles between brake lines and the calipers.
  14. Fit fuel tank - contents sender unit and fuel pump to chassis.
  15. Fit 5/16 copper fuel line to chassis from tank to offside of engine compartment with 7 clips.
  16. Fit engine mountings modified by S.S. and Jaguar rubbers. Fit special S.S. bush to the gearbox. Fit Jaguar mounting rubber to the engine and gearbox.
  17. Using crane, instal engine and gearbox as one unit - less carburettors and exhaust.
  18. Instal S.S. modified propshaft.
  19. Instal radiator mounting hoop, S.S. alloy radiator and hoses.
  20. Fit Jaguar exhaust manifolds and 3 parts S.S. exhaust system.
  21. Fit 4 special splined hubs and the S.S. dummy brake drums.
  22. Fit SS.S wheels and tyres.
  23. Fit body and bonnet to chassis - body is G.R.P. and supplied predrilled and doors fitted. Bonnet is 4 part handmade alloy. Bodywork should be try fitted to chassis before removal for specialist painting.
  24. Fit S.S. spare wheel carrier after refitting painted body to chassis.
  25. Instal wiring loom to that the correct position and location of terminals is determined.
  26. Instal S.S. handbrake and handbrake cable.
  27. Instal floorboard set, gearbox cover and tunnel to S.S. instructions.
  28. Fit up Jaguar engine with all the operational ancillaries, coil, distributor, alternator, etc.
  29. Locate S.S. seat frames and Jaguar seat runners. Remove seat frames for trimming by upholsterer.
  30. Fit 3 bonnet catches and fasteners to chassis rails.
  31. Fit windscreen wiper spindles.
  32. Fit up predrilled dashboard with instruments and switches. Fit hood mountings and rear hood rests.
  33. Fit special S.S. steering column and indicator stalk.
  34. Fit door locks and latches. Fit dummy tank vent.
  35. Fit windscreen.
  36. Organise trimming of interior, seats, carpets, making of hood and tonneau, etc.
  37. Fit the spare wheel on S.S. splined hub and carrier.
  38. Fit radiator shell, grille, lamp bar, front valance, starting handle eye, radiator cap and badge.
  39. Fit steering wheel.
  40. Fit front lamps, rear lamps, reflectors, side lights and indicators.
  41. Fit side mirrors to windscreen frame. Fit interior mirror.
  42. Fit anything else I've forgotten to mention.
  43. Check all levels - fit battery and turn ignition key.
After that, heaven is any road you're driving on.
